Spring Skin

Although Winter isn't quite finished packing its bags here, we are into a new season. I like to add some new products to my skincare routine this time of year and assess what I have on hand that works for me and what I wouldn't re-purchase.

This Spring I'm looking at less expensive brands as I'm sure you have noticed how much health and beauty items have shot up price. I've recently retired so my budget is more fixed (downwards ... oh dear) for self-care than while I was working. However spending less does not mean getting less effective products. I'm also returning to more green brands.

I have used Greek brand Korres in the past and have returned to them this year with their Wild Rose serum and moisturiser. Rose is a wonderful ingredient for mature and sensitive skins. This brightens as well as moisturising and helps to make pigmentation less noticeable. Note: I've yet to find a topical pigmentation product that gets rid of dark spots, so don't expect any you may have to disappear. You need to see a good facialist who can do more involved procedures to actually remove them.

The other brand I have started using is British natural brand ESPA.  Very affordable and uses essential oils which I love. I have the Rest and Recovery night balm and the Lift & Firm moisturiser. Love the scent of frankincense in these. They are packed with marine and plant actives and are a real pleasure to use without breaking the budget.
